Jean-Luc Barbanneau has had wide experience of educational, general, children's,
reference and electronic publishing at senior management level. Until 1992 he
was Publisher and Deputy Managing Director of the UK's Harrap Publishing Group
where he was instrumental in the development of their dictionary and reference
list, including one of the first international dictionary projects on CD-ROM.
He then worked as a consultant for major international Publishers, including
Reed Illustrated Books in the UK, National Textbook Company in the US and
Groupe Hatier in France. From January 1994 to August 1995, he was also Senior
Lecturer in Publishing at Oxford Brookes University, specializing in
management, marketing and electronic publishing.
As well as being President of Websters Multimedia Inc., he is Managing Director
of Websters International Publishers, with particular responsibility for the
development of the Websters Multimedia division which he helped to set up in
1994. In recent years he has overseen the international expansion of the
company's activities, including the setting up of a French subsidiary (Websters
France) in Paris, as well as editorial offices in Milan, Madrid and Munich in
partnerships with local companies.
