Nils von Veh originally joined Microsoft as a product marketing manager in what was then
the Multimedia Publishing Group, in March of 1989. Over the course of five years, Nils was
involved in helping to define, position and launch a number of Microsoft's initial
multimedia CD-ROM offerrings including Encarta, Bookshelf, Cinemania
and the Multimedia Composer Series. Beginning in 1994, Nils has served as the
Group Program Manager for Cinemania, Music Central and the Microsoft Wine Guide for
the CD-ROM products and their online incarnations. In his final 1½ years at
MSFT ('97-'99) he served as Director of Worldwide Travel. In this capacity he was
responsible for managing Microsoft's overall annual travel spend of over $150M+/yr
and negotiating with Microsoft's key corporate suppliers such as the airlines, car
rental companies and major hotel chains. Nils joined Microsoft after serving as
President of Seven Gables Theaters, Inc., and he has also held a number of senior
management positions in the entertainment industry.
Nils was instrumental in helping to set up Websters Multimedia Inc., and is the
senior US-based corporate representative of its parent company Websters
International Publishers. Nils deals with local administrative requirements and
has a high-level monitoring role with regard to general good functioning of the
company. He also provides strategic business development advice to Websters
regarding potential growth of Websters Multimedia.
